Random Rumor We Want

Today, in brainstorming trades that could work, I came up with one that could work. To bring back a former Sixer that everyone undoubtedly forgot about.

Not AI, but Kyle Korver. Now a sharpshooter for the Hawks, Korver would help the 76ers with spacing on offense, and be a valuable leader in the locker room. This trade would work similarly to the Ilyaslova trade, giving up little value for a player past his prime.

John Wall Rumor

It has been reported that Philadelphia is in talks with the Wizards about a trade involving Jahlil Okafor for PG John Wall. A trade like this has to be a no-brainer for Philadelphia:

  1. Wall is one of the NBA’s best Point Guards, and is on a very team-friendly contract.
    1. This gives the Sixers an immediate upgrade at a position of need, and an established star that other players can listen to during Free Agency.
    2. With Embiid and Simmons flashing their personalities on twitter, forming a big three with John Wall creates an excellent recruiting team for Free Agency
  2. Okafor can be expendable
    1. While he has improved his defense this fall, he still looks far from a franchise saviour, and will most likely end up out of position, or on the bench.

Klay Thompson Rumor

Klay Thompson to the 76ers for Noel and other pieces has been proposed by some media members, yet it makes little to no sense:

  1. Nerlens Noel’s contract ends after this season.
    1. The Warriors simply would not have the cap space to warrant signing Noel after their inevitable deep playoff run. He would essentially be a rental for a few months.
  2. The Warriors can get way more from other teams.
    1. Trading Klay Thompson is a very big deal, he is an All-Star and one of the best 3 point shooters in the NBA, so an above average backup center is not a great return.
